The Hind Boot Rule

ESNZ Jumping rules Art 257.3 & Annex 9 - the hind boot rule for 2018-2019
  • All hind boots must have a maximum interior length of 16cm, and the width of the fasteners to be at least 5cm wide.

  • The inside of the boot must be smooth (flat)

Only non-elasticated Velcro fasteners are permitted. No hooks, buckles, clips or other method may be used.


This ruling will be phased in over three seasons as per FEI rules and is paramount to horse Welfare.

2018/2019 season: ALL 4, 5, 6 and 7year old Competitions, Pony, Amateur and Pro-Am competitions.

2019/2020 season: Young Rider and Junior Rider Competitions

2020/2021 season: All Competitions
